A total of 40 footballers, have been nominated
for the 2014 UEFA Team of the Year.
The shortlist includes obvious names like
Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gareth Bale.
Seven players from the Premier League make the
cut. They are: Vincent Kompany, Yaya Toure and Pablo Zabaleta (Manchester
City), Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal), Thibaut Courtois and Diego Costa (Chelsea) and
Angel Di Maria (Manchester United).
Fans can cast their vote for the players on a poll conducted on UEFA’s
website. Voting will close on January 6 and the team will be announced shortly
